about
Seeing as how the whole concept for this record was a spoof of "The Ventures Knock Me Out!", we felt it was only fitting to include our favorite Ventures tune, "Journey To The Stars." When we started this band back in 2015, we only had a few weeks to get some songs together for our 1st show and this song was one of the two covers we learned. Five years later and it is still in heavy rotation in our set. This version and our rendition of "Penetration" on this album were actually recorded during the session for our debut album "Ruin The Party", but we decided not to use them at that time. Luckily, we decided to do this covers album, so we were able to dust off these two songs and share them with all of you!

Surf guitar that is more than just "let's put some reverb on it." Tasty tracks, each with a unique style. If you like Americana like Big Lazy or exotica like Kava Kon, you may want to give this a try. xpatofthemind

I just received my vinyl copy of 1961 in the post today and it's spinning on the platter as I type. Oh the twang. I absolutely love this album. And the fact that I can listen to it on vinyl makes it even better! Allen Palmgren
